Nanny Verbal was born on February 19th, 1917 in Kentucky.1 Nanny Verbal's father was Bennie Dever Skaggs and her mother was Mary Lou DeSpain. Her paternal grandparents were William Anderson Skaggs and Martha Francis Nelson. She had a sister named Elsie M.. She was the younger of the two children. She died at the age of 80 on December 26th, 1997 in Henry, Illinois. She was buried in Henry City Cemetery, Henry , Illinois.1 1 General Notes
