Peyton was born on December 20th, 1873 in Perry Co., Kentucky.1 Peyton's father was Zackariah Ritchie and his mother was Sylvania Campbell. His paternal grandfather was James Monroe Ritchie and his paternal grandmother is Hannah Fugate. He had four brothers named John C., Josiah, Green and Elliott. He was the second oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 84 on March 1st, 1958 in Perry Co., Kentucky. He was buried in Stacy Cemetery, Ary, Knott Co., Kentucky.1 1 General Notes
