Joshua was born on October 13th, 1870 in Clear Creek, Perry Co., Kentucky.1 Joshua's father was Benjamin Ritchie and his mother is Rose Ann Combs. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Grigsby Ritchie and Kissiah Smith. He had four brothers and three sisters, named William, Thomas, Gabriel, Franklin, Malissa Jane, Sinthia and Naomi. He died at the age of 65 on January 2nd, 1936 in Knott Co., Kentucky. He was buried in Crockett Cemetery, Knott Co., Kentukcy.1 1 General Notes
