Joel Purcell 
Joel was born in February 1813 in Dearborn Co., Indiana.1 Joel's father was Samuel Purcell and his mother was Ann Brewer. His maternal grandfather was George Brewer and his maternal grandmother is Mary Unknown. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Samuel J., Benjamin S., Daniel, Elihu, Moses O., Elizabeth and Mary. He was the second youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 88 on February 1st, 1901 in Red Bluff, Tehama Co., California. He was buried in Red Bluff, Tehama Co., California.1 1 General Notes
