Mariah Jane was born on June 2nd, 1845 in BUTLER COUNTY, KY.1 Mariah Jane's father was Francis Eslick Pendley and her mother was Cassandra B Whitaker. Her paternal grandparents were Austin Pendley and Jane Dennis. She had three brothers and three sisters, named George W, John Commodore, Columbus Byron, Mary E, Sarah Antha and Irene Holland. She was the oldest of the seven children.1 -
