Bessie L. Nichols

Bessie L. was born in May 1894 in South Carolina.¹   Bessie L.'s father was Marcus V. Nichols and her mother is Martha Minta Green.  Her maternal grandparents are Stewart Green and Matilda Shehan. She had four brothers and four sisters, named J. C., Thomas Virgil, Grady Roland, Boyce, Eunice R., Stella E., Carrie Zella and Ethel.  She is the fifth oldest of the nine children.
