Flora Edith was born on December 16th, 1875.1 Flora Edith's father was John Brown McFarland and her mother was Flora McCraney. Her paternal grandparents were John McFarland and Mary Keahey. She had four brothers and six sisters, named George Calvin, William Jackson, John Roderick, Kenneth Virgil, Sarah Jane, Mary Isabelle, Margaret Jeannette, Ida Katherine, Martha Ella and Vivian Evelyn.
