Thomas G. was born in October 1894 in Texas.1 Thomas G.'s father was Thomas Daniel Kornegay and his mother was Arie W. (Amy) Basham. His maternal grandparents were Coffey Jones Basham and Julia Ann Waggoner. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Koby, Coffee Daniel, Herbert, Maude, Audley and Lucinda. He is the second youngest of the seven children.-
