Tragedy struck the family again.  While in the state of Colorado, Robe
rt J ones met with foul play and was killed.  A neighbor went to Colora
do to in vestigae.  Some say he brought the body bak, some say not.  In a
ny even t, a grave could not be located in Missouri.  Robert's wagon and t
eams an ad all his personal belongings were stolen.  One story is that whi
le prosp ecting Robert found gold, and outlaws jumped his claim and kill
ed him.  An other story is that he was freighting merchandise and outla
ws waylaid hi m, killed him and took his outfit.
