The family was qu ite p oor. My Aunt Marie says Mary Emily was alive in 1921 because she ca me ba ck to Cloverpost on a visit then and brought Aunt Marie a blue sweat er." "The 1900 census says William Berry and mary Emily had nine childre n, fo ur alive at the time of the census. I came up with the same seven n ames y ou list and have no family Bible to fill in the gaps. We know Will iam N ., Ennah, and Lillie were alive in 1900 and an Aunt nick-named "Pus s" (pro bably Maranda as L. M., the only other girl disappears before t he 1880 cen sus). Since a female was the fourth child alive in 1900, th at would mean S teven A. D. and George were dead before then" Informati on provided in Fra nk Brummett and Wife's correspondence January 23, 1998.
