William Franklin Johnston 
William Franklin was born in November 1882 in Wallis, Austin Co., Texas (Eight Miles Point).1 William Franklin's father was William E. Johnston and his mother was Elizabeth G. Slaughter. His paternal grandparents were John L. Johnson and Eliza McGee; his maternal grandfather was Gabriel Clayton Slaughter. He had six half-brothers and seven half-sisters, named James Woodall, Leander, William Franklin, James Virgil, Herbert, Marcus, Francis May McGee, Maria Jane, Alice Lizzie, Penelope Elizabeth, Eliza, Frances J. and Mary Pearl. He died at the age of 46 on August 2nd, 1929.1 General Notes
