Joseph Grigsby 
Joseph was born on July 6th, 1768 in Culepper Co., Virginia.1 Joseph's father was John,3rd Grigsby and his mother was Elizabeth Porter. His paternal grandparents were John,Jr. Grigsby and Jane Redmond; his maternal grandfather was Benjamin Porter and his maternal grandmother is Mary Ann Campbell. He had two brothers and six sisters, named Elisha, Reuben, Ann, Jane, Rachael, Martha, Elizabeth and Frances. He had twelve half-brothers and three half-sisters, named James, John,4th, Charles, William, Louis, Calvin, Charles, Mondaner, Newton, James, Wilkerson, William, Susanna, Lettitia and Sarah Mildred.
