Charles A. was born on August 10th, 1881 in LaRue Co., Kentucky.1 Charles A.'s father was John Martin Elkin and his mother was Sarah A. Thompson. His paternal grandparents were William Melton Elkin and Lucyann Perlina Davis. He had four brothers and three sisters, named James S., William, Joseph R., Jake, Lucy J., Mary M. and Florence. He was the second youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 75 on March 17th, 1957 in LaRue Co., Kentucky.
