Theodore S. was born on February 18th, 1880 in Lucas Co., Iowa.1 Theodore S.'s father was William Marshall DeSpain and his mother is Rachel Cox. His paternal grandfather was John M. DeSpain and his paternal grandmother is Lydia Howell. He had nine brothers and eight sisters, named James Simpson, Isaac Newton, William M., George Marshall, Marian Franklin, Peter, Jeremiah, Joseph, Ray, Presciellen, Indiabell, Glendora, Rachel, Annie, May, Nellie and Laura Blanch. He was the eighth youngest of the eighteen children. He had a half-brother named Thomas J.. He died at the age of 72 in 1952 in East Moline, Illinois.1 General Notes
