Indiabell was born on October 12th, 1869.1 Indiabell's father was William Marshall DeSpain and her mother is Rachel Cox. Her paternal grandfather was John M. DeSpain and her paternal grandmother is Lydia Howell. She had ten brothers and seven sisters, named James Simpson, Isaac Newton, William M., George Marshall, Marian Franklin, Peter, Jeremiah, Theodore S., Joseph, Ray, Presciellen, Glendora, Rachel, Annie, May, Nellie and Laura Blanch.
