Bessie Combs

Bessie was born in 1899.¹ Bessie's father was Samuel Ray Brashear Combs and her mother was Armelda Ritchie. Her maternal grandparents were Joshua Ritchie and Nancy Hall. She has two brothers and two sisters, named Joshua, William J., Polly A. and Cassie. She is the second youngest of the five children.
