Owen Berthal was born on September 13th, 1884 in Rogers, Bell Co., Texas.1 Owen Berthal's father was Zachariah Clinard and his mother was Celia Delia Hillyard. His maternal grandparents were Thomas Hillyard and Christian Elizabeth Graham. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Milton Woody, Thomas Zacharih, Forrest Dabney, Murrey Franklin, Maude Meamie, Artie Madgaline and Christrine Elizabeth. He was the third oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 67 on October 6th, 1951 in Milam Co., Texas. He was buried in Marlow Cemetery, Cameron, Texas.1 1 General Notes
