William Hill, Sr. was born on January 26th, 1899 in McLeansboro, Hamilton Co., Illinois.1 William Hill, Sr.'s father was Arthur Byrd Campbell and his mother was Lulu May Hill. His maternal grandparents were Samuel Porter Hill and Pernecy Wheeler. He had six brothers and two sisters, named Earl Cranston, Claude Eugene, Arthur Goodsell, Orley Kenneth, Ario Basil, Austin Harrison, Thura Helen and Thelma Irene. He was the third oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 100 on January 24th, 2000 in Sheridan, Sheridan Co., Wyoming.1 General Notes
