William Means Brooks 
William Means was born on October 19th, 1863 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny Co., Pennsylvania.1 William Means' father was William S. Brooks and his mother was Hadessa Means. His paternal grandparents are Richard Brooks and Rachel Davis; his maternal grandparents were Ralph Benjamin Means and Hadessa Nancy Whitsett. He had a brother and three sisters, named William Irwin, Bessie Church, Unknown Child and Daisy T.. He died at the age of 85 on October 24th, 1948 in Tacoma, Washington.1 General Notes
