Lavina Sara Jane was born on December 6th, 1913 in Grandview, Johnson Co., Texas.1 Lavina Sara Jane's father was Simon Boliver Bowles and her mother was Gertrude 'Gertie' Basham. Her paternal grandparents were Oscar P. Bowles and Dovie Devenia Payne; her maternal grandparents were Beuford B. Basham and Mary Jane Hall. She had a brother and a sister, named Simon Boliver, Jr. and Bobbie L. E.. She was the oldest of the three children. She had a half-sister named Darlene. She died at the age of 85 on November 1st, 1999 in Fort Worth, Tarrant Co., Texas. She was buried in Moore's Memorial Gardens, Arlington, Texas.1 1 General Notes
