Elected to House of Representatives in 1834 as a Democrate To the 21,22
,2 3, Congress.Serving from March 04. 1829 to February 11, 1834. He died w
hi le delivering before the house a eulogy upon his predecessor, John Rand
ol ph of Roanoke. He uttered the words, "But I cannot tell the reasons w
hy h is death was not announced, without telling what I told a friend I sh
ou ld say, in case__," and he fell to the floor dead. He was succeded in c
ong ress by his Brother James Wood Bouldin.

The Members of the two Houses of Congress assembled yesterday ony to u
ni te in paying the last earthly to the remains of thier lat associate, t
he H on. Thomas T. Bouldin, of Va. The funeral ceremonies of the Hall of R
epres enatives . Prayers were read, with due solemnity, by the Rev. Mr. Ha
tch, o ne of the Chaplins to Congress, and a very excellent discourse, su
it ed to the occasion , was delivered by the Rev. Mr. Stockman and other C
hap lain; after which , the two Houses , in procession, escorted the co
rp se to the Eastern Burial grounds. The Funeral Ceremonies were attend
ed al so by the President of the United States, The Judges of the Supre
me Cour t, and the Heads of Departments. On no similar occasion has the mo
rning be en more general sincere than on this ; the peculiar circumstanc
es of whic h, indeed, could not fail to make a deep impression on the min
ds of all me n.
