Amos Jefferson was born on December 2nd, 1851 in Rush, Rusk Co., Texas.1 Amos Jefferson's father was Joel Blackwell and his mother was Sarah Ememline Graham. His maternal grandparents were Jesse Abner,Rev. Graham and Martha Jane Fannin. He had six brothers and three sisters, named John Milton, George Washington Grant, Peter Willis, William Newton, Benjamin David, Alexander Jefferson, Martha Jane, Mary Ann and Lydia Ellen. He was the fourth oldest of the ten children. He had a half-brother named Charles Stuart,Jr.. He died at the age of 74 on February 25th, 1926 in Coryell, Co., Texas.1 General Notes
