Malissa P. was born about 1842 in Tennessee.1 Malissa P.'s father was Robert S. Bassham and her mother was Sarah M. Unknown. Her paternal grandparents were Archibald Basham and Winna Jons. She had six brothers named Harriet E., Lucas L., William J., Mary J., John N. and Sarah L.. She was the third oldest of the seven children. She died after 1879.1 General Notes
