Edward Franklin (Edd) was born on January 12th, 1875 in Bonham, Fannin Co., Texas.1 Edward Franklin (Edd)'s father was Francis Marion (Frank) Bassham and his mother was Louisa Lucretia (Lucy) Popnoe. His paternal grandparents were Johnson Basham and Susan A. Unknown. He had five brothers and four sisters, named William Palestine (Bill), Henry Lansford, Leonard Lawrence, Sam Estes, Phinis Malcome, Susan Elizabeth (Betty), Arrie Ellen, Ethel Erie and Cora 'May' Seeley. He was the fourth oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 62 on December 22nd, 1937 in Kermit, Winkler Co., Texas.1 General Notes
