Winfield Embry was born on February 15th, 1923 in Daviess Co., Kentucky.1 Winfield Embry's father was William Elva Basham and his mother was Maude Belle McCamish. His paternal grandparents were James Henry Basham and Elizabeth E. Ross. He had eight brothers and two sisters, named William 'Hardin', James, Ramus Edward, James Henry, Presley Shurl, Frances R (Twin), Frankie D (Twin), Living, Martine Lorean and Ruth L..
