Pearl L. was born about January 1896 in Mountainburg, Crawford Co., Ark.1 Pearl L.'s father was Monroe Moses Basham and her mother was Martha Jane Williams. Her paternal grandparents were William Bassham and Margaret (Peggy) Unknown. She had six brothers and three sisters, named L. (M), Nathaniel T., Oliver Kenny, Walter Moses, William Thomas, James Monroe, Cora, Lula Beatrice and Ora M.. She was the third youngest of the ten children. She died on May 1st, 1935 in New Orleans, Jefferson Co., La.1 General Notes
