O. Mitchel was born about 1813 in Kentucky.1 O. Mitchel's father was Bartlett Angel, Jr. Basham and his mother was Nancy Susan Farmer. His paternal grandfather was Bartlett Angel Basham and his paternal grandmother is Wife Unknown. He had two brothers and five sisters, named Littleberry, Bartlett Angel III, Penelope Minerva, Margaret (Peggy), Joyce (Joicy), Nancy Farmer and Lucretia. He was the second youngest of the eight children. He died after 1880.1 General Notes
