Mary Catherine (Cassie) was born on February 27th, 1899 in Riley Co., Kansas.1 Mary Catherine (Cassie)'s father was Martin Van Buren Basham and her mother was Laura Valera Martin. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Anderson Basham and Rachel Louthan. She had four sisters named Laura Rachel, Blanche, Manley M. and Lucy A.. She was the second oldest of the five children. She died at the age of 5 on December 20th, 1904 in Chickasha, Grady Co., Oklahoma.1 General Notes
