Lucy Basham

Lucy was born in 1779 in Virginia.¹   Lucy's father was William Basham and her mother was Sarah Sally Shrewsbury.  Her paternal grandparents were William Basham and Sarah (Agness) Angel; her maternal grandparents are Benjamin Shrewsbury and Nancy Richardson. She had three brothers and five sisters, named Uriah, Cary, Barnett A., Celia, Nancy, Rhoady, Peggy and Mary (Polly).  She was the oldest of the nine children. She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Obediah, Jonathan and Elizabeth.  She died at the age of 85 in 1864 in Sumner Co., Tennessee.¹ 

‌Lucy and Thomas were married in a religious ceremony on September 17th, 1799 in Franklin Co., Virginia.¹   They had a son and a daughter, named Joel and Nicey.
