John Russel was born on March 12th, 1914 in Mystic, Breckenridge Co., Kentucky.1 John Russel's father was Remus Blaine Basham and his mother was Laura Lee Hicks. His paternal grandparents were George Washington Basham and Irene Robbins. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Harlen, Moman Fuller, Ruby Kathleen and Living. He died at the age of 73 on December 19th, 1987 in Lafayette, Tippecanoe Co., Indiana.1 General Notes
