James 'Alvin' Basham 
James 'Alvin' was born on May 12th, 1878 in Arkansas.1 James 'Alvin''s father was Joseph P. Basham and his mother was Mary Jane Morris. His paternal grandparents were Jonathan Basham and Delilah Payne. He had six brothers and six sisters, named Joseph Lawrence, Thomas Lane, Jesse Isaac, C. B., Marian Clinton, Frederick Fenton, Sarah Delilah, Nannie Bell, Mary Lou 'Visa', Martha Adela, Alice Clementine (Tiny) and Ruth Amazon. He was the sixth oldest of the thirteen children. He had five half-brothers and five half-sisters, named Henry Jonathan, William O. (Rev), James, John, Samuel, Elizabeth Ellen, Abigail Suretha, Katie, Donana A. (Donnie) and Minnie L.. He died at the age of 82 on December 5th, 1960 in Comanche Co., Texas.1 General Notes
