Ira Vernon was born on October 19th, 1903 in Ohio Co., Kentucky.1 Ira Vernon's father was Ernest Everette Basham and his mother was Lenora (Frankie) Franchette. His paternal grandparents were Samuel Logan Basham and Margaret Ann Eskridge. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Denver D., Hubert, William Glen, Bethel and Ethel. He was the third oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 69 on March 19th, 1973 in Hartford, Ohio Co., Kentucky.1 General Notes
