Henry Joseph was born on July 17th, 1881 in McGraw, Wyoming Co., West Virginia.1 Henry Joseph's father was John Albert Basham and his mother was Amanda Catherine Pittman. His paternal grandparents were William Blane Basham and Juliana Lydia Lilly; his maternal grandparents were Michael Pittman and Rebecca Margaret Kinser. He had five brothers and seven sisters, named Giles Kelly, William Michael, Isaac Everette, Lawrence Hobart, Ivan McKinley, Rosabelle, Anna Laura, Florence Birdie, Julina Elizabeth, Ada Ethel, Rebecca Margaret and Lessie Dell.
