Clarence Russell Basham 
Clarence Russell was born on June 6th, 1892 in Ray Co., Missouri.1 Clarence Russell's father was James Clayton Basham and his mother was Barbara Emaline Griffey. His paternal grandparents were Wiley Wessley Basham and Mary Lucinda Thomas. He had four brothers and a sister, named Floyd, George Dewey, James Raymond, William Robert and Mary L.. He was the oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 70 on January 25th, 1963 in Claycomo, Clay Co., Missouri.1 General Notes

Clarence and Maud when first married lived in Ray County Mo and farme
d, th en later moved to Caldwell Co near Cowgill Mo on a farm on what w
as kno wn as the Cowley farm west of Cowgill. And it was living there th
at the ir daughter Gene- vive at the age of two years old slipped away fr
om the y ard and toddled down to the Milwaukee railroad tracks which was a
bout 10 00 feet from the house south to the crossing of the railro
ad by a county r oad, and was struck by a west bound train one afternoon a
bout 3:30 PM. S he never recovered from the injury, but lived to be 12 ye
