Billy Myron Basham 
Billy Myron was born on December 26th, 1933 in Grandview, Johnson Co., Texas.1 Billy Myron's father was Myron (Toy) Basham and his mother was Chastyne Elizabeth Williams. His paternal grandparents were Virgil Nathan Basham and Sarah Ellen Kirkland. He had two sisters named Living and Living. He died at the age of 56 on December 17th, 1990 in Houston, Harris Co., Texas. He was buried in New Grandview Cemetery.1 1 General Notes

Billy M Basham '58 Billy Basham, 59, of Bellaire, died December 17. Fol
lo wing graduation, he worked as a horticulturist for the City of Houst
on Par ks and Recreation Department until 1964. He then worked as Direct
or of Gr ounds for the Texas Medical Center. Basham moved to Mississip
pi in 19 67 to become a Land Development Specialist for the Mississippi Re
search a nd Development Center. In 1969, he became the General Manager f
or Hangi ng Moss Gardens in Mississippi. Returning to Texas in 1973, Bash
am work ed as General Manager of the Woodlands Landscaping and Nursery Cor
poratio n. The Houston Arboretum and Botanical Gardens named him its fir
st full t ime director in 1973. Basham joined Texas Nursery in 19
86 as a Horticultu ral Consultant and Landscape Designer, where he work
