Barnett A. was born in 1793 in Virginia.1 Barnett A.'s father was William Basham and his mother was Sarah Sally Shrewsbury. His paternal grandparents were William Basham and Sarah (Agness) Angel; his maternal grandparents are Benjamin Shrewsbury and Nancy Richardson. He had two brothers and six sisters, named Uriah, Cary, Lucy, Celia, Nancy, Rhoady, Peggy and Mary (Polly). He was the third youngest of the nine children. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Obediah, Jonathan and Elizabeth. He died after 1850 in Kentucky.1 General Notes
