Ancil M. was born on June 22nd, 1873 in Hodgenville, Larue Co., Kentucky.1 Ancil M.'s father was John Allen Davis Basham and his mother was Helen Rhuema Duncan. His paternal grandparents were Samuel Wesley (Rev) Basham and Sally Davis Young. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Thomas Elbert, Mollie, Birdie, Allie, Samuel L., Sallie and Elizabeth (Lizzie). He was the fourth oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 88 on September 29th, 1961 in Louisville, Jefferson Co., Ky.1 General Notes
