Alvis Grant Basham 
Alvis Grant was born in September 1865 in Woodbury, Cannon Co, Tennessee.1 Alvis Grant's father was James M. Basham and his mother was Mary Ann Stafford. His paternal grandparents were Jonathan Basham and Elizabeth McComb. He had four brothers and two sisters, named James H. (Big Jimmy), Thomas Edward, Adam D., Manoah (Noah), Sarah E (Betty) and Mary Maggie. He was the second oldest of the seven children. He had a half-brother named Jonathan Isaiah. He died at the age of 77 in June 1943 in Woodbury, Cannon Co., Tennessee.1 General Notes
