Alexander William Basham 
Alexander William was born about 1836 in Monroe Co., Virginia.1 Alexander William's father was Meador Basham and his mother was Polly (Mary) Hans. His paternal grandparents were William Loyd Basham and Ama Meador. He had six brothers and two sisters, named John Henry, Anderson, James H., George R, Henry C, David Allen, Rhoda Jane and Eliza. He was the third oldest of the nine children. He died on July 15th, 1862 in Richmond Virginia.1 General Notes
