Adam D. Basham 
Adam D. was born on July 22nd, 1876 in Woodbury, Cannon Co., Tennessee.1 Adam D.'s father was James M. Basham and his mother was Mary Ann Stafford. His paternal grandparents were Jonathan Basham and Elizabeth McComb. He had four brothers and two sisters, named James H. (Big Jimmy), Alvis Grant, Thomas Edward, Manoah (Noah), Sarah E (Betty) and Mary Maggie. He was the third youngest of the seven children. He had a half-brother named Jonathan Isaiah. He died at the age of 73 on June 6th, 1950 in Woodbury, Cannon Co., Tennessee.1 General Notes

Adam Basham, 74 Dies; Rites Held Wednesday At 11:00 Funeral servic
es we re held Wednesday at 11 A.M. for Adam Basham, 74, who died at t
he at the l ocal hospital Monday following an illness of three years. T
he funeral rit es were conducted from the Sheboygan Church of Christ by Mi
nister Billy Ni cks. Mr. Basham a resident of the Burt community of th
is county, was a me mber of the Church of Christ. He had lived at the sa
me residence for t he past 36 years where he was a farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Rachel Ann Scott Basham; three sons, L
aw ton Basham of this county, Grover Basham of Ruterford County, and Vest
er B asham of Nashville; a brother, Noah Basham of Warren County; and a si
st er Mary Pelham of Warren County. He is also survived by 12 grandchildr
en a nd 14 great grandchildren. He was the son of the late James and Ma
ry A nn Stafford Basham. Interment was in the Riverside Cemetery with Woo
dbu ry Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Grandsons served as pallbe
arer s.
