Herbert McCloyd, Jr. was born about 1911.1 Herbert McCloyd, Jr.'s father was Herbert McCloyd Arnold and his mother was Esther Rae Dennis. His paternal grandparents are Lonnie Arnold and Sarah Spence; his maternal grandparents were James Henderson Dennis and Annie Unknown. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Joseph Alvis, Guy Booth, James Franklin, Annie Katherine, Rachel Lenoir, Christine and Eunice Marie.
