William Barrett Travis Allen 
William Barrett Travis was born in 1839 in Texas.1 William Barrett Travis' father was James Bud Allen and his mother was Nancy McNutt. His paternal grandparents were Martin C. Allen and Elizabeth Vice; his maternal grandparents were Robert Blaine,Major McNutt and Mary Polly Jackson. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Benjamin Bud, Joseph Warren, Mary Elizabeth, Martha Matilda, Louisa M. and Eliza Jane. He had a half-brother named Winfield Scott. He died at the age of 46 on July 11th, 1885 in Hutto, Williamson, TX. He was buried in McNutt-Allen Cemetery , Williamson Co., Texas.1 1 General Notes

James Bud Allen was a friend of William Barret Travis of the Alamo. Tr
av is was their lawyer and had stayed in the Allen inn at Eight Mile. Th

as had w on her independence from Mexico. And he wanted to remember h
is frie nd by naming his son after Travis. This tradition has been pass
