Thelma Allen was born about 1909 in Texas.1 Thelma Allen's father is David Collins Allen and her mother was Ruth Amazon Bassham. Her maternal grandparents were Joseph P. Basham and Mary Jane Morris. She had a brother and four sisters, named David Collins, Jr., Wynette, Jolda, Maydelle and Lyda R.. She is the oldest of the six children.-
