Jules Verdier 
Jules was born on November 29th, 1830 in Nestier, Dept des Hautes Pyrennes, France.1 He died at the age of 37 in 1867 in Moreauville, Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana. He was buried in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Moreauville, Louisiana.1 1 General Notes

File #5221 - Declatration of intention of becoming a citizen, filed May 23, 1857. Jules signed that he was a subject of Louis Napoleon, third Emperor of France. Citizenship filed on October 15, 1868.
Jules died at his home in the fall of 1867. He was buried in the new cemetery at Moreauville, Louisiana.
Jules and Clementine were married in a religious ceremony on April 30th, 1859 in St. Paul's Catholic Church, Mansura, Louisiana.1

Clementine and Jules settled on a small farm at Long Bridge shortly after their marriage. This farm is now located on Highway 1 where it crosses Bayou Des Glaises.
The 1860 Census shows this couple with one son, Jules. Also living there were Lodiska, Sosthene & Evelina, Clementine's sisters & brother. Also there are Evelina's 2 children, Sosthene & Jules.

The 1870 Census shows this couple living between Joseph Celestin & Marceline Coincon, and Hilaire & Angelina Lemoine. There were 2 children at home: Angelia & Julius. Also living there were 16 year old Florisca Couvillon, and 30 year old Jean Marie Rebete, a farm laborer born in France.
