Clementine and Jules settled on a small farm at Long Bridge shortly after their marriage. This farm is now located on Highway 1 where it crosses Bayou Des Glaises.
The 1860 Census shows this couple with one son, Jules. Also living there were Lodiska, Sosthene & Evelina, Clementine's sisters & brother. Also there are Evelina's 2 children, Sosthene & Jules.

The 1870 Census shows this couple living between Joseph Celestin & Marceline Coincon, and Hilaire & Angelina Lemoine. There were 2 children at home: Angelia & Julius. Also living there were 16 year old Florisca Couvillon, and 30 year old Jean Marie Rebete, a farm laborer born in France.
