Born near Viola Center, Audubon County, Iowa April 2, 1879. She was the nineth of twelve children born to William Burnside &Delilah Evaline Smith Lyttle, besides three older half sister s. The Lyttle family came to LA. by train Feb. 1, 1887. For a time they lived in an orange orchard where the LA. International Airport is now.
She and younger brother, Robert Thomas Lyttle were baptised Sep. 30/Oct. 7, 1894 at the Churc h of Christ on North Workman Street in LA. Was a member 84 yrs.
She met William Edgar Miller in 1898 and he proposed to Emma while boating on Hollenbeck Park Lake. They were married in the bride's home on 25 of April, 1900. Their children were Ada Lenore, Wellington Everett, Donald Verne, Leonard Haven in 1913. W. Edgar Miller became a n elder at Sichel and Altura Streets in 1914: eventually serving 4 churches a total of 46 yea rs.
The Millers lived for a brief time in the later part of 1910 in Hanford, Ca. Family moved t o Santa Ana in 1917, about 1937 they helped start the new congregation in Pasadena. Ater th e death of Bro. Miller Apr. 8, 1960 Sister Miller lived with daughter, Ada in Beverly Hills a nd was a member of the West Los Angeles church. She celebrated her 100th birthday Apr. 2, 19 79 in Hanford 19 days before going to her everlasting home.
Emma was intent on teaching all four of her children the Way of the Lord. They became preac hers, elders and/or teachers; Ada the wife of an elder, William H. Williams.
She was buried 12:00 noon, April 25th at Wee Kirk of the Heather, Forest Lawn, Glendale, Cali fornia.
