Moved to South Carolina where they settled on Two Mile Creek in the Ninety-Six Didstrict in the vicinity of Abbeville.

James and Frances were married in a religious ceremony in August 1760 in Orange County, North Carolina.1 They had seven sons and three daughters, named William, Annis, Larkin, Abner, James, John, Elijah, Elizabeth, Frances and Milly.
