Elisha Williams 
Elisha was born on May 12th, 1728 in Queen Anne's Parish, Prince Georges, MD.1 Elisha's father was Thomas Williams Sr. and his mother was Eleanor PRATHER. His paternal grandparents were Barruch Williams Sr. and Eleanor Hilleary; his maternal grandparents are Thomas M. Prather and Martha Sprigg. He had four brothers and seven sisters, named Thomas, William, Baruch, Walter, Elizabeth, Elinor, Rachel, Mary, Martha, Martha and Living. He died at the age of 84 on November 24th, 1812 in Millboro Springs, Bath, VA.1 General Notes
Elisha was a member of the State Convention that wrote the Constitution of Maryland. In 1779 he moved to Frederick County, VA, and established his 600-acre estate, "Prospect Hill," later known as the Martin Kaufman home. He acted as magistrate for many years and often was charged by the Court with the execution of important public dutied.
Elisha died leaving no will. There was a very well documented 20-year Virginia Supreme Court case determining the right of daughters to inherit in an intestate case which was brought about by Butler Stonestreet who had married Elisha's daughter Mary.
