Elisha was born about 1772 in VA or NC. Elisha's father was Benedict Bennett Stacy and his mother was Sarah Haskins. His paternal grandfather was John Stacy and his paternal grandmother is Mary Abernathy; his maternal grandparents were Aaron Haskins and Priscilla Redmond. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Benjamin, Aaron, John, Mark, Jane, Nancy, Sarah and Lucretia. He is the second youngest of the nine children.General Notes
