Jacob was born on January 12th, 1772 in Botetourt Co.,VA. Jacob's father was John Christopher PERSINGER and his mother was Maria Barbara PENCE. His paternal grandfather was Jacob S. Persinger and his paternal grandmother is Rebecca UNKNOWN; his maternal grandparents are Henry PENCE and Mary Margaret BLIMLEY. He had eight brothers and eight sisters, named Henry, David, Moses, John, William, George, Adam, Allen, Jane, Harriet, Mary, Catherine, Elizabeth, Rebekah, Catherine and Isabella. He died at the age of 78 on September 12th, 1850 in Pemberton,Shelby,OH.General Notes

"In the nameof God, Amen, I Jacob Persinger of the County of Shelb
y and State of Ohio, being of sound mind and memory, blessed by Almig
hty God for the same do make and publish this my last will and testam
ent. I give and bequeath to my son William R. Persinger one wagon an
d gears that is in his possession and the said,Wm R. Persinger, my s
on is to pay a note of one hundred dollars to C.L. Merrick. Also to I
saac A. Wilkinson, at my death, one horse saddle and bridle which I n
ow hold in my possession. Also a note that I hold on the said Isaac A
.Wilkinson for two hundred and twenty four dollars. This note I am t
o make use of while i live or as much of it as I need. I bequeath t
o my daughter Elizabeth Hollingshead fifty dollars to the above not
e provided there is that muchleft at my death. Also to my daughter R
uth Wilkinson my bedstaed, bedd and bedding. Also my Books I give t
o be divided among my heirs William R. Persinger, Elizabth Hollingshe
ad, Ruth Wilkinson and Barbara nutt at any time they wish to make a d
ivision of said books. Also i give and bequeaah at my death tomy dau
ghters Elizabeth Hollingshead, Rth Wilkinson and Barbara Nutt at an
ytime they wish to make a division of said books. Also I give and be
queath atmy death to my daughters Elizabeth Hollingshad, Ruth Wilkin
son, Barbara nuttand Priscilla Persinger a certificate on the Cincin
nati Lebanon and Springfield turnpike company it being six shares i
n said stock. Also the loose property that I hold a William R. Persin
ger to be divided equally among the above named heirs. My funeral exp
enses to be paid out of the above named note provided it is not all e
xpended before my death, if it is the expense paid equally by the abo
ve named heirs.
In testimony which I hereunto set my hand and sealand publish and de
cree this to be my last will and testament in prescence ofthe witnes
ses named below this twentieth day of March, in the year of our Lor
