Arthur Mclean was born in 1881 in Gilmer, Guilford, NC. Arthur Mclean's father is Robert Andrew Fleming and his mother is Mary Henrietta McLean. His maternal grandparents were Calvin I. McLean and Nancy Jane Gannon. He has five brothers and three sisters, named William Fletcher, Walter Calvin, Roland Nash, Perry Gannon, George E., Cora Frier, Nettie Jane and B. Andrew. He is the fourth youngest of the nine children.-
